When we started our vintage movies site in 2006, we had little idea how fast web video technology would progress, so instead of updating the old site we started a completely new site with full screen viewing, video sharing and lots of other new features.

AMEA regulars who were on this site from the start may experience login problems, because their accounts are not in the user administration that was added later, so if you have problems with your login and password, let us fix this for you, by contacting us here because we would hate to see you leave.

I have been testing the video upload option with four short clips, one avi, three wmv files. I am very curious if they work on a Mac. Wmv seems to do better than avi. Let me know what you think. If all goes well, I will post some longer clips.

From now on you can also upload short movie clips.

Accepted extensions are:

.mpeg,.mpg,.avi,.asf,.wmv,.mov

We would like to start with some smaller files to check what the system can handle.

So please do not upload files larger than 20 Mb.

You can use the normal photo uploader to add video and once the file is successfully uploaded you will be asked to upload a thumbnail.

This site is still under construction and will take over from http://vintage.ameanet.org somewhere this week.

This is not a server move, nor is it a visual brush-up of the old site; it is a major upgrade of the Vintage Photographs section, adding a lot of extra features, which will be listed here soon.
